In 1954 he started the business with the intention of creating a center of excellence for the production of wooden packaging in Brianza. He was supported in the progress of the adventure by his son Nando and his daughter-in-law, LEDA CAPPA, a rigorous and tireless administrator.

A passion for the sea, highly professional expertise in woodworking and an opportunity, launch the Silingardi family into a new business.

In 1991 they took over a shipyard with a historic tradition for the production of Genoese gozzi and, taking advantage of the experience of Ivo, an exceptional shipwright, Silboard was born, a company for the construction of recreational and sports boats. That of the shipwrights is more of an art than a job: they shape the wood, mold it and transform it into hulls capable of sailing the waters. When Ivo, an essential reference figure, passes away, the Silboard nautical adventure transforms, giving life to a new beginning.

Silingardi continues to be the production engine maintaining distribution for the industrial sector. Silboard, relying entirely on Silingardi production, becomes the exclusive distributor of the family business with an offer of wooden packaging of all types and sizes. Among the vast range of products, standard and custom-made, the ace up the sleeve is Silibox, the patent of Nando Silingardi.

Silibox is a completely foldable wooden box. Traveling folded, it reduces the overall dimensions and cuts shipping costs; when used, it can be assembled in an instant without the aid of glue and nails.
